STORY

Our life at the tiny locality of 'Candlelight' began in 2017. The land was originally pioneered by Nicole's grandparents, before being sold to a neighbouring farmer. Throughout the early years of our relationship and marriage, we dreamed of buying the property back into the family. We attempted to purchase the farm some years ago, but were unable to secure finance. After years of hard work and determination, we were finally able to turn the dream into a reality, and so began the exciting chapter of our lives on Candlelight Farm.

Since moving to the farm, we have taken great pleasure in sharing the wonderful experiences of farm life with our friends and family. It is a beautiful thing to share these unique experiences- the freedom, fresh air, scent of the flora, music, connecting with animals and nature, and of course, those starlit nights that have to be seen to be believed. It's always special to see the worry and stress of a busy life leave a persons body when they step foot on the property, and we look forward to sharing some of these experiences with you.

CANDLELIGHT LOCALITY STORY

It was known that a sandalwood and mallet bark cutters track ran through the valley to the Candlelight Soak. Some say the name was given due to the water level in the soak rising at evening by candlelight, others that surveyors claimed to have arrived at the soak by candlelight. Whether named by sandalwooders or surveyors, the adoption of Candlelight in 1922 for the railway siding put the name on the maps of Western Australia.
